Lexus NX Turbo vs Acura RDX

Performance and Safety:

While the Acura RDX AWD's 3.5L V6 engine is often the standard choice of the luxury crossover market, the Lexus NX Turbo F Sport AWD's turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine competes easily, pairing quick acceleration with greater efficiency. Indeed, both models share comparable horsepower, automatic 6-speed transmissions, independent suspension, and standard speed-sensitive power steering, but it is the NX that races ahead with 258 torque at 1,650 RPM. The NX's combined fuel economy of 24 mpg also compares favorably to the RDX's 22 mpg. Both vehicles were also built with the safety of you, your passengers, and your cargo in mind. Each has standard features like backup cameras, stability control, 4-wheel ABS, brake assist systems, daytime running lights, heated exterior mirrors, and anti-theft protection. However, the NX takes standard air bags a step further by including front knee airbags that are not available for the RDX. Additional features like optional blind spot monitor, parking assist, and lane departure alert allow you to enjoy the NX experience worry-free.

Exterior:

We know that style is subjective, but when it comes to the NX Turbo F Sport AWD and the RDX AWD, you're offered the choice between modern and minimalist. Each sports their brand's signature grille and iconic LED head and taillights, but the sleek styling of the Lexus NX is certainly more brazen and sporty than the Acura RDX's classic crossover look. Even if you decide against the F Sport exterior styling, the NX is still designed to turn heads with its angular lines, sharp profile, conventional roof rails, and illuminated door handles. Both vehicles adeptly combine power and beauty, but it is the NX that demands a double take.

Interior:

Both the NX Turbo F Sport AWD and RDX AWD masterfully fill their roles as luxury crossovers by combining comfort and convenience with standard Bluetooth technology, parking aid backup cameras, top-brand speakers (though the NX has 8 compared to the RDX's 7), dual zone climate control, smart key systems, and more. However, while the RDX offers additional standard features that are optional for the NX (such as heated front seats and a universal garage door opener), the NX includes a standard telematic system, real-time traffic information, and voice activated controls that are not available for the Acura. Lexus also offers a variety of packages, such as the Luxury and Comfort Packages, which allow you to choose the features that are important to you. Whether you're looking for a unique, outer-sliding moonroof, navigation system, adaptive cruise control, Qi-compatible wireless charging system, your Lexus can be customized to your needs and style.
